Bi-metal plain bearings:

The key difference lies in the profile of the lubricated surface of the bronze layer.
When it comes to bi-metal plain bearings, many people focus on dimensions and materials.

The real difference often lies in the details: the type of profile.

GETRO bi-metal plain bearings are available in three variants – and each has a specific purpose:
• K – spherical pockets for grease lubrication
• R – diamond-shaped pockets for oil lubrication
• N – oil groove for better distribution of the lubricant

K & R store lubricant and release it gradually
N requires constant lubrication

In concrete terms, this means:
Choosing the wrong profile leads to insufficient lubrication, wear and failures – even though the bearing ‘fits’ on paper.

Our approach at ttv:
We look not only at the component, but at the actual lubrication within the system.
