The single acting sealing element Type K2002, K2003, K2010 consists of two components: the sealing ring made of PTFE and an O-ring which functions as an elastic preload element. In particular for piston seals with one-sided pressurisation, free movement, impermeability and positioning accuracy are of utmost importance. Our tailor-made constructions provide the highest possible characteristics and secure your application.
A wide ranging selection means diameters of up to 2,700 mm are
available. Depending on the choice of material for the O-ring, the seal
shows a high resistance to chemicals and a wide temperature range
• long operating life
• high extrusion resistance and high abrasion resistance
• low friction values, best values in both dynamic and static impermeability, no stick tendency, simple groove design, one-piece piston, simple mounting without deformation of sealing edges
Type K2010 is particularly suitable as primary seal for oil system usage in the piston accumulator. In particular when interacting with the Types K2031 and KT2032. K2010 is particularly recommended as sealing element in single-acting pistons in hydraulic components such as machine tools, injection moulding machines or presses.
The tried and tested ttv sealing element Type K2020 is renowned for its high level of efficiency and reliability as well as its low friction.
Type KT020 is a double-acting seal, which is made up of a slide ring on a PTFE basis and an O-ring as preload element. It also has a preload. Together with the preloadfrom the O-ring, a good sealing effect can also be achieved under low pressure. If system pressures rise, the PTFE ring is pressed against the counter surface with stronger pressure, the O-ring’s preload is strengthened.
With translational movements the development of an even oil film under the seal is of vital importance. This is where the design ensures a good tightness in a static condition.
In the case of abrupt pressure changes a quick preload of the seal must
occur. Grooves on both sides of the seal ensure this.
The ttv seal element Type K2020 is available for all cylinder diameters up to 2,700 mm. Dependingon the choice of material it is suitable for almost all pressure fluids in connection with the standard modern rod materials and surface treatments. Its high level of wear resistance guarantees long life expectancy
• No stick-slip between seal and counter surface even during longer operating breaks or storage
• Low operating temperature and minimum energy loss through minimum static and sliding friction coefficients
• Creating optimum flexibility in design: depending on the selected sealing material, K2020 is also suitable for non-lubricating fluids
• No stick-slip when switching to regular movements
• Clearance according to ISO 7425/1
• Also suitable for the new environmentally friendly pressure fluids
K2020 is successfully applied in various applications as double-acting
piston seal for hydraulic components. These include:
• Machine tools
• Injection moulding machines
• Excavators
• Presses
• Agricultural machinery
• Forklifts and handling devices
• Valves for hydraulic and pneumatic switches
Due to the new kind of functional principle of the trapezoidal profile cross-section, Type K2023 fulfils all market demands on efficiency and environmental awareness. A curvature has been positioned on both side profile edges which allow the seal profile towards the seal surface to become slimmer. This enables the characteristically compact construction of the profile for the rod seals to be retained without the ability being lost which is required for a contact pressure independent maximum compression.
Type K2023 has a side angle. This opens up extra free space which makes a slight tilting motion of the seal possible. This has the advantage that the maximum compression always moves towards the sealing edge directly exposed to the pressure. In turn, this leads to only tension-free zones without shear or pressure stress being created on the sealing edge directly exposed to pressure. Therefore the possibility of an extrusion is much lower.
Available for every cylinder diameter up to 2,500 mm. The sealing gap enlargement enables safe use even with soiled media. Type 518 is suitable for the new environmentally-friendly pressure fluids. Single groove type and a one-piece piston are possible. In addition lower friction without stick-slip effect and excellent static impermeability. Depending on the operating requirements the groove diameter is twice the size - which greatly reduces costs. Clearance according to DIN/ISO 7425/1
Type K2023 is particularly suitable for large diameters and for difficult conditions. We can recommend Type 518 in particular as sealing element for double-acting pistons in hydraulic components, such as:
• Machine tools
• Excavators
• Presses
• Agricultural machinery
The double-acting sealing element Type K2031 consists of three components: The sealing ring which is made from first-class PTFE, an X-ring seal and an O-ring which functions as an elastic preload element.
The PTFE sealing ring and the X-ring seal carry out the dynamic sealing. The O-ring carries out the static sealing. The interaction joins the advantages of the PTFE sealing ring with those of a ring seal.
The ttv sealing element Type KT051 has radial grooves (notches) on both sides as standard. The enables an immediate pressurisation of the seal in all operating conditions.
good sealing effect for media separation such as fluid/gas or fluid/fluid from the combination of low-friction specialist materials
• with elastomer seals results in double security
• smaller mounting space and single groove design
• best slide characteristics without stick-slip effect
For double-acting pistons and positioning and locking cylinders we recommend Type K2031 as sealing element. These include:
• Machine tools
• Stabilizers
• Piston accumulator
• Presses
• High-performance suspension cylinder
The ttv sealing element Type K2032 is a further development of our renowned sealing element KT051. In this further development we have realised a new construction of the seal profile of the PTFE ring on the static and dynamic seal surface. In order to achieve a split compression of the sealing edges, Type KT053 has two O-rings instead of one as preload element.
The ttv sealing element Type K2032 joins the good statistical sealing capacity of the elastic seal with the excellent slide characteristics of the PTFE sealing element. Characteristic for the special seal profile of the sealing element Type KT053 are the defined sealing edges and the use of two O-rings as preload element.Exa
Good sealing effect for media separation such as fluid/gas or fluid/fluid from the combination of low-friction materials
• with rubber seals results in even more security
• low gas penetration compared to Type K2032
• higher slide speed and increased pressure application threshold
• best slide characteristics without stick-slip effec
Type K2032 is particularly suitable for large diameters.
• Machine tools
• Offshore
• Piston accumulator
• Presses
• Rolling mills

The ttv sealing element Type K2035 is a preloaded seal for dynamic applications which are mounted in existing O-ring mounting spaces. It combines the responsiveness and the flexibility of O-rings with the best wear and friction properties of PTFE materials in dynamic applications. The aim when developing Type K2035 was the extension and improvement of the O-ring’s operating parameters. The sealing element can be mounted in existing O-ring grooves.
Thanks to its symmetrical cross-section it can react to pressure in both directions. The compression is created by the radial compression of the O-ring. If the system pressure increases, the O-ring converts this into additional contact pressure. This enables the seal to be automatically compressed which guarantees optimum impermeability under all operating conditions.
Due to its thin radial section the seal reliably reacts to pressure changes. This is why we deliver Type KT030 without radial grooves as standard. If requested, we can add grooves to both sides on diameters from 10 millimetres, which ensures immediate contact pressure of the seal in all operating conditions.
We supply the sealing element Type K2035 in all suitable standards for AS 568B and relevant metric O-rings. We can also supply other cord strengths upon request.
wear and extrusion resistant

The U-ring K0001 is a single-acting piston sealing element made from polyurethane. The elasticity of this material enables simple installation of the U-ring in closed grooves. A robust dynamic sealing lip and the wide contact surfaces on the static lip ensure effective positioning in the mounting space. The U-ring can be used for pressures up to 40 MPa, however it must be ensured that the extrusion gap is adjusted to the corresponding pressure level.
Even when the counter surface is not good quality the U-ring K0001 is renowned for its:
• High abrasion resistance
• Long life expectancy
• Single groove design
We recommend U-ring Type 311 PU as sealing element for single-acting
pistons in hydraulic components, such as:
• Lifting platforms
• Presses
• The spare parts market
The single-acting KTF shows an asymmetrical sealing gasket. This contains a V-shaped metal spring as preload element. The good sealing effect, low friction and a long life expectancy result from the strong profile of the dynamic lip with optimum angle at the front.
In order to guarantee impermeability in no-pressure operation, the metal spring presses against the sealing lip and thus maintains the preload. Other material combinations of seal and spring open up further areas of application over and above hydraulics, for example in pharmaceuticals, chemistry or in food technology. The seal element KTF is supplied in a special “hi-clean” version for
sterile applications, for example in the food industry. The inner spring area of this version is closed with a flexible mass. The smooth surfaces which occur in this way are easy to sterilise. If you wish to use the seal element for high-viscosity media, please contact the ttv team.
The sterilised ttv sealing element KTF is physiologically harmless when used in food technology, pharmaceuticals and medical technology.
Furthermore it is renowned for its:
• High adaptability to quick temperature changes
• Resistance to most fluids and chemicals
• Low friction values
• High abrasion resistance and dimensional stability
• stick-slip freedom without tendency to stick
• Unlimited storage time
With sealing element KTF a high-quality counter surface should be ensured to reduce wear. We particularly recommend KTFfor applications which require stick-slip free operation and chemical
resistance to almost all media, such as:
• Dispensing units
• Pumps
• Valves
• Actuators
• Separators
An V-shaped seal KDM03 is a seal set with fabric reinforcement. This so-called V-shaped seal set is comprised of a supporting ring (1), seal rings (2) and a thrust ring (3). If any of the rings are pressed into contact with the surface of the rod, this leads to a transfer of the axial preload force between the individual V-shaped seal rings. In order to cover the widest possible range of application conditions, application-specific material variants are also available in addition to the standard materials.
1. Supporting ring
The supporting ring supports the efficient functioning of the V-shaped seal rings and prevents gap extrusion. In standard applications, the supporting ring is made from fabric-reinforced NBR.
2. Intermediate V-shaped seals
Are normally made from fabric-reinforced NBR or pure elastomer, meaning that they provide optimal sealing effect, high extrusion resistance and good restoring force. They can respond to changes in liquid pressure as their specific design allows them to form a bulge in their radial profile. Depending on the impacting pressure, this leads to increased seal resilience and improved sealing effect.
3. Thrust ring
The thrust ring is made from POM or PTFE and is designed to ensure uniform pressure distribution.
• High adaptability
• Resilient, extremely sturdy sealing element
• Easy to replace in the field thanks to slotted rings
• Available in several different dimensions (see symmetrical seals)
• High-quality mating surfaces not required
• Diggers
• Presses
• Mining machinery (with clearance)
• Steel works
• Ship hydraulics
• Water hydraulics
• Continuous casting plants
• Stabilising cylinders on cranes
