These coatings therefore ensure that dynamically loaded seals function in an even more economical and precise manner. Environmental factors are also taken into account, as only water-based finishes are used.

We carry out the finishing processes based precisely on our customers‘ specific requirements, including the option of using a coloured lubricant varnish to make the parts stand out.

Black /“rough“ PTFE coating

This coating is a water-soluble dual-component lubricant varnish designed to reduce friction in elastomers. A mixture of carbon particles creates a structured surface that ensures good friction and wearing characteristics.

The black/“rough“ PTFE coating is particularly suitable for dynamic applications with metal mating surfaces. The most impressive features of this type of coating are as follows:

  • UV indicator

Coloured PTFE coating

This coating is a water-soluble dual-component lubricant varnish with a good surface structure, and is available in red, yellow, blue or white. It is particularly suitable for dynamic applications with plastic mating surfaces.

PTFE-FDA coating

This coating is a water-soluble single-component lubricant varnish designed to reduce friction in elastomer parts.

It was specially developed to meet the requirements of the food industry, and complies with the provisions of the German Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act
(LMBG, §5 Paragraph 1, §31 Paragraph 1).

The raw materials used meet the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The coating is light grey transparent.

• No UV indicator
• Compliant with FDA

PTFE-ME coating

This coating is a water-soluble single-component lubricant varnish. It encourages the separation and smooth running of elastomers during both automatic processing and initial installation. The transparent dry coating has excellent separation and lubrication properties, and makes it easier to install elastomer seals. PTFE-ME coated parts are permanently separated and have low levels of friction.

The automated coating of elastomers is a mass procedure with results that comply with Gaussian distribution. A crucial parameter for the process reliability and the monitoring of this reliability is the actual coating thickness, which is 3 to 9 µm at ttv.


Coating process

 

There is currently no procedure that can measure the coating thickness on elastomers during the production process Light microscopy can only measure coating thicknesses of up to a few µ.

Procedures carried out on coated metal parts produce only unsatisfactory results when used on base bodies made from elastomer materials. Usable results are only achieved using cuttings measured with electron microscopes or cross sections on embedded samples.
