The company GFC Antriebssysteme, which was rebranded as AUMA Drives on 1 October 2016, is linked to ttv thanks to a professional and collaborative partnership going back over 20 years.
From then on, the company has been making gearboxes for the AUMA Group that are aimed at the special requirements with relation to valve actuation, and is operating within the AUMA Group with its own products. The AUMA Drives high-performance gear units are used to power systems such as escalators or lifts.
AUMA Drives also has proven expertise in developing drive solutions for special tasks. The best examples here are the extremely quiet gear units for stage technology in opera houses or the innovative drive solutions for the high-precision alignment of mirrors in solar power plants.
Michael Eleser,
Development Manager at AUMA Drives
In keeping with "Engineering Solutions", the gearbox specialists from Coswig are also making use of ttv's customised development services.
A good example of this is the seals for the slewing gearboxes in the series DRW 80, which are used in solar parks and are able to absorb radial and axial forces as well as tilting torques.
For the Technical Sales Manager at ttv Massimiliano Casini-Cherici, the collaboration with AUMA Drives is a typical example of how demanding customer requirements always lead to powerful new solutions.
For example, ttv has also developed sealing solutions for 10,000 multi-turn gearboxes supplied by AUMA Drives for a 50 MW solar thermal power plant in China. The plant has already been installed and is expected to generate over 136,000 MWh of electrical energy per year. ttv sees this successful cooperation as confirmation of its strategy of focusing increasingly on customer-specific solutions.
The long-standing cooperation between the design engineers Mr. Eleser and Mr. Graf with ttv founder Jochen Nitzschke, today's managing director Harald Nitzschke and technical sales manager Massimiliano Casini-Cherici has resulted in efficient and close structures, which mean a real win-win situation for both companies.
For many different applications, AUMA Drives uses the large ttv bushings with products that are available as standard, in an extremely wide range of different dimensions and materials.
