GFC was a member of the AUMA Group as early as 1991. AUMA Riester GmbH & Co. KG, based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is a world leading manufacturer of electrical actuator drives for the automation of industrial valves, and after German reunification, found the perfect company for the expansion of its product range in the form of GFC from Coswig bei Dresden, a manufacturer of high-performance gear units. From then on, the company has been making gearboxes for the AUMA Group that are aimed at the special requirements with relation to valve actuation, and is operating within the AUMA Group with its own products. The AUMA Drives high-performance gear units are used to power systems such as escalators or lifts.

AUMA Drives also has proven expertise in developing drive solutions for special tasks. The best examples here are the extremely quiet gear units for stage technology in opera houses or the innovative drive solutions for the high-precision alignment of mirrors in solar power plants.

Thanks to the long-standing collaboration between engineers Mr Eleser and Mr Graf and former ttv manager Harald Nitzschke as well as Sales Engineer Massimiliano Casini-Cherici, efficient and tight structures have been developed, meaning a real win-win situation for both companies. For many different applications, AUMA Drives uses the large ttv bearings with products that are available as standard, in an extremely wide range of different dimensions and materials.

Engineering Solutions to meet particular challenges
In keeping with "Engineering Solutions", the gearbox specialists from Coswig are also making use of ttv's customised development services.

A good example of this is the seals for the slewing gearboxes in the series DRW 80, which are used in solar parks and are able to absorb radial and axial forces as well as tilting torques. The shaft sealing rings required here in a special design with special geometry have been developed by ttv in close collaboration with Mr Eleser and Mr Graf. For the Technical Sales Manager at ttv Massimiliano Casini-Cherici, the collaboration with AUMA Drives is a typical example of how demanding customer requirements always lead to powerful new solutions. For example, ttv is currently working on sealing solutions for a new solar park in the Far East, which is now right in the middle of the planning stage

Herr Eleser, Development Manager at AUMA Drives, sums it up in a nutshell:

"We were won over by ttv thanks to its excellent flexibility, high level of technical understanding and experience in developing the perfect solution for
particularly demanding applications".
